The Big Whiteout
Based on a book written by Eugenea Couture titled Adoption Not an Option and the Short film titled Through Darkness I See You the upcoming film The Big Whiteout is based on a true story about a four-year-old Metis girl, Eugenea who is taken from her family and forced into foster care. She is trapped in the 60’s scoop where Native children were stripped from their families to live in white homes. As an adult, Eugenea is determined to find her family but sealed records and a tight-lipped government is sworn to secrecy.
This film takes the audience into the mind of a child who’s survival and triumph is against all odds. With no leads, Eugenea is determined to unlock the past to find her fragmented family and reconnect. Even when all hopes seems lost Eugenea’s incredible journey will never give up until she finds them.
